Citrix announced yesterday that Bob Calderoni has been appointed as interim president and CEO. In a surprising twist, the announcement also states that the search for a new CEO continues, which indicates that Bob Calderoni will be the permanent president of Citrix, but perhaps not the CEO.
Forrester recently completed an in-depth study entitled The Forrester Wave™: Server-Hosted Virtual Desktops (VDI), Q3 2015, which offers a complete analysis of significant providers in this space, including Citrix, Dell, Microsoft, and VMware. Overall, Citrix XenDesktop was rated high in most categories; however, one area, management tools, showed a significant deficit.
Several news resources have reported that Citrix is trying to sell the entire company to Dell. Reuters first broke the story late on Tuesday evening, and other news agencies have followed suit.

Yesterday, Citrix released the VMware Migration Tool, which enables a fast and easy transition from VMware View 6.1 to XenDesktop 7.6. This tool works to migrate not only to on-premises XenDesktop environments, but also to Citrix Workspace Cloud.
Citrix has officially made Workspace Cloud available. It is the offering that will allow enterprises and service providers to host applications, desktops, mobile, and data as services.
Citrix announced late yesterday that Mark Templeton will be retiring and that its board of directors is searching for a new CEO. Is this deja vu or real? While this isn’t the first time that Mark Templeton has announced his retirement, it appears that this time he is indeed imminently retiring.
