TVP is a for-profit organization, and therefore the analysts of the TVP also receive compensation from TVP for their contributions. TVP also receives payments for sponsorship and other works from vendors such as product reviews, etc. During the period of the product review, analysts also receive product from the sponsor or sponsors involved.

TVP analysts receive free passes to many conferences and events, but are otherwise responsible for their own travel, meals, and lodging expenses. An example of such conferences and events include but are not limited to:

  • EMC World
  • GetstaltIT Tech Field Day
  • RSA Conference
  • VMworld
  • TechNet

In some cases, TVP Analysts are asked to speak at various conferences, and as such may or may not have to provide their own travel, meals, or lodging expenses. This depends entirely on the conference attended as a Speaker.

TVP Analysts in addition not only write articles for TVP, but for other blogs as well from which they may or may not receive compensation. Such blogs from which they may receive compensation include but are not limited to:

  • 1105 Media
  • CIO
  • TechTarget

TVP Analysts may also receive honors from vendors, such as VMware vExpert or Microsoft MVP. With such honors may also come free merchandise from the vendor including but not limited to software, licenses, and apparel.

In addition, TVP Analysts may receive discount coupons from vendors, be asked to participate in betas of vendor products, and may even be sent product for permanent use.

As such, we must disclose that TVP and its Analysts do not represent any vendor, but is in the role of providing analytical content for all products within the virtualization and cloud computing spaces.
